Also on view will be my most recent Riso-printed publication series “Intimate Narratives” and a few Riso prints to inspire the workshop.
Spots are unfortunately all filled up, but it couldn’t hurt to email Low Standards to see if there is a waitlist. On the Sunday, November 18, there will be a book launch and potluck open to the public.

This week in Oslo
Two events I’m involved with are coming up this week, both at educational institutions.
First, on Thursday, February 8: Every shore is a treasury at Westerdals ACT’s library.
As part of Westerdal’s Zero-Waste Day, I’ll be giving a short talk about my Oslofjord project and donating part of my collection of beach plastic to a workshop in collaboration with Seabling.
Then on Saturday, February 10: I’ve contributed a poster to a large group exhibition at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
The theme of the show is #metoo and my poster is a cheeky presentation of an actual line fed to me (by a member of the administration) while I was a student: “Why can’t you just shut up and be a good girl?” Sigh.

Tromsø

Last week I was in Tromsø and helped hold a mini-Riso workshop with Tanya Busse. Despite the tiny daily window for light before the all-consuming darkness, it was super cozy thanks to all the great people who I oddly have no photos of. That’s how it goes staring at computer screens all day and printing all night! 😉

Print it with Riso!

In just one month I’ll be in Bergen teaming up with Ann-Kristin Stølan and London’s Hato Press to give a workshop.
Spanning almost five weeks and over three distinct parts, the workshop will give an introduction and the means needed to make a Risograph printed publication featuring one’s own work. Participants at the workshop will also have a booth at the Bergen Art Book Fair (November 19-22) where they can showcase and sell their books.
The first part of the workshop will take place on Friday, October 23. More info and lots of beautiful photos – I’m inspired to make a new zine just looking at them – are here.
